The slat intervals on each tier allow adequate airflow and sunlight running through the shelves. Its perfect! Such a cute boho style. The wood is super high quality, the stained color is gorgeous, and it feels super stable and durable. It holds a TON of plants! I stacked some books under some pots too, and it held it like a champ- not flimsy at all. Extremely satisfied!
